Inlays and Onlays

You have a filling that needs to be replaced. Do you have to get a full crown? Not necessarily. High-quality porcelain inlays and onlays are custom-made to fill cavities, cracks or breaks in teeth and blend in with the rest of your teeth. Porcelain is the material of choice for patients who have concerns about metal or plastic restorations.

Inlays refer to those procedures where the bonded material limited to the center of the tooth, while onlays refer to those procedures where the bonded material can extend further to one or more cusps of the tooth. If you have cavities, old metal fillings that need to be replaced or damaged teeth that may otherwise be treated with fillings, dental inlays/onlays may be for you.
